Mathematical modelling and simulation of entrained flow gasification experiments

  • Motivation

High-pressure entrained flow gasification is an efficient technology for the conversion of low-quality carbonaceous feedstocks (such as biomass, plastic waste or tire waste) into high-quality synthesis gas, which can be used for the production of renewable liquid fuels and chemicals in a circular economy. For improved predictions of synthesis gas compositions, we would like to advance global gas-phase reaction kinetics using plug-flow reactor and continuous stirred-tank reactor simulations. In addition, we would like to test the improved gas-phase reaction kinetics using CFD simulations.
